The Bridal Shower

Sunday May 17th, the anniversary of our first date, we had our bridal shower

at the Great Escape in Schiller Park.

It was an absolutely perfect day. Our friends and family showered us with lots of love and very generous gifts. The whole experience was a bit overwhelming, but extremely fun. The room was beautifully decorated with lilacs.

We were served a delicious brunch with Katie's favorite, mimosa punch. The food was excellent, and was completed with a home-made (and decorated) cake by Cindy & Beth. It was a very special day for us. We would like to thank everyone for coming and thank everyone again for the wonderful & extremely generous gifts.

The afternoon was complete with shower games. Two of our favorites put both of us on the spot. Ben was given 20 questions to answer about himself privately, and later Katie had to guess his answers. Katie ended up with 14 right, not bad considering we've know eachother for 1 year. Later Ben was asked to guess which pair of legs was Katie's just by feeling them. The catch was he had to do it blindfolded. The bridal party, along with Sophie, were good sports about volunteering. Fortunately for Ben, he got it right.

We would like to thank Cindy, Peg, & our bridal party who helped make our shower so special. We extend a very special thank you to Gig, Ben's dad, for his expert packing abilities and his moral support at the shower. They really came in handy! We feel so lucky to have such a support system of great family & friends. We are looking forward to the celebrating with everybody at the wedding!
